Results for 9th September 2009 - Course: K11/5 Willoughby
This was an excellent way to end the evening time trial series, with glorious sunshine after recent weeks of wet weather. We had been concerned that this narrow 5-mile course was becoming a little too busy, so we were pleased to have all 40 riders return safely without incident. Nevertheless we are still looking for alternative short courses, but these things take time and even longer to get through official channels. The result was another win for Hywel Davies, with Peter Wright edging into second place, having his best season to date. Tim Hastie held on to third with Colin Stiles and Phil Scott dead-heating for 4th. It was another good ride for 13-year old George Goodwin who finished ahead of 13 other riders, again winning the handicap in the process. As confirmed last week Colin Stiles has won the points championship for the season, although Tim Hastie has amassed more points by riding in every event, but drops points since under our rules only the best 18 events count. Sean Conway is this season's handicap points winner, ahead of Paul Laurie and Kenny Robinson. In the handicap competition the dropping of points has not affected the outcome.
