Results for 19th August 2009 - Course: K10/10F Frankton

An excellent turnout of 51 riders for our last visit to this course in 2009, many aware that this is generally where and when PBs are posted. Despite sunshine and a gentle (?) breeze conditions were not so favourable, with only Lucy Cash, Phil Byrne and Steve Whitington setting new standards. Since her first TT ride in April Lucy has taken her 10-mile time down from 31 minutes to below 25 and in taking over a minute off her previous best she was again first on handicap. Tim Hastie came within 10 seconds of Colin Stiles's winning time and Colin appears to have the season's points competition all but sown up, while the handicap could still be won by Sean Conway or Kenny Robinson, with Paul Laurie making a late surge. Fastest time on the night came from guest rider Dave Watson (Coventry RC) who clocked 21-07. Despite this course being very familiar to our riders Mike Smallwood and Dave Pettifor missed the turn at the Memorial island and went on to Ryton before realising there were no other riders in sight and a return up Knightlow hill awaited them.
