Event cancelled at 6.50 pm

Rain having fallen through the day, there still seemed a possibility of the event going ahead. However, the rain suddenly became torrential and the conditions much darker. Many riders decided it was unsafe and were reluctant to ride. There seemed little prospect of conditions improving and the decision was taken to cancel. In fact conditions became worse, with standing water on roads and falling branches. In recognition of those who had made the effort to turn up it was declared that everyone should receive 10 points in the scratch and handicap competitions. Also all cash entry fees will be carried forward to the next event. The following 23 riders each receive 10 points.
