Results for 13th May 2009 - Course: K11/7.25 x 2 Grandborough Fields

Another excellent ride by James Heaton, taking 6 seconds off his own course record for this 2 lap event. Conditions were far from ideal with a cool breeze and rain threatening, but 43 riders turned out nevertheless. Hywel Davies was just over one minute behind and he was over two minutes ahead of third placed Colin Stiles. Tim Hastie would have challenged for 4th or even 3rd place had he not been held up by a motorist who decided to stop unexpectedly, but such incidents are experienced by all competitors at some stage and are part of riding time trials. Dave Overton's solo ride ended with an early mechanical problem, but he and Colin Stiles paired up at the end of the field to achieve a 1-lap tandem ride in an impressive 16-34. The handicap was won by the still improving Paul Laurie ahead of Tony Johnson and Kenny Robinson, clearly benefiting from his new club skinsuit.

Next week we are hopeful of running the 25 on our established 2-lap Princethorpe course, unless the A45 roadworks reappear, having been delayed for some explained reason.
