Results for 6th May 2009 - Course: K11/10B Braunston

Great rides by James Heaton and Hywel Davies on the deceptive Braunston course, made especially difficult by a 20 mph cross-wind. Another large entry of 56 riders, including 8 guest riders, kept the timekeepers on their toes for over an hour at the finish. There were 3 DNFs, the unluckiest being Steve Bond, whose chain broke 10 yards after the start, but he had the consolation of a downhill run back to the car park. Former member Alan Clowes appeared after a 20 year break from time trialling and surprised himself by producing a sub-28 time. Junior member Paul Peasegood, still looking to break that elusive 30 minute barrier, topped the handicap table, just ahead of the improving Paul Laurie. A welcome return for Steve Whitington after injuring his hand during the first event of the season.
