Results for 8th April 2009 - Course: K11/7.25 Grandborough Fields

An excellent ride by James Heaton, taking 9 seconds off the previous course record. There was a strong SW wind, but it didn't seem to affect times as much as we expected. Last week we exceeded our entry limit, since 50 is the maximum, based on the distance, start time and sunset. We couldn't plead ignorance twice, so for this event we applied the 50 limit leaving 5 late arrivals not able to sign-on. Next week it's a 6.45 pm start and a 55 limit, but the following week we start at 7 pm and drop to 50 (because we start 15 minutes later).

As ever early in the season handicap results are unpredictable, particularly as we have many new members with little form to go on. Nevertheless Kenny Robinson has stepped up a gear from last season and his winter training is paying off. New members Tim Hastie, Matt Plant, Adrian Tayles & Craig McKee look like challenging our quicker riders, while 14-year old Joe Dominy looks to have a bright future in cycling.
