Results for 27th August 2008 - Course: K11/10 Long Lawford

This hilly Long Lawford course is always one of our slowest, so it was no surprise that only four riders managed to get under 25 minutes. The handicap times also reflect the course, with only Martin Sutcliffe getting under the net 20 minute level. As expected, James Heaton and Hywel Davies were way ahead, with Hywel getting back to form as he recovers from his double iron-man. Disappointment for Simon Brand and Rob Robson who both punctured on the back of the circuit, while all riders had to contend with large amounts of mud on the road as they competed for space with busy farmers taking their opportunity for harvesting. With one event to go the points competitions are still not settled, as James Heaton needs 6 more points if Hywel wins, while Mike Bloom looks the likely winner in the handicap, but can still be caught by James Heaton.

After last week's problems with fading light it was good to see more riders using a flashing LED at the rear.
