Results for 20th August 2008 - Course: K10/10F Frankton

The combination of August weather and this fast, flat course usually brings a raft of PBs, but this year it was cool and showery, so the only rider to lower his PB was Kenny Robinson. James Heaton was a comfortable winner, chased by Hywel Davies riding his first event since his double iron-man. Despite severe saddle-soreness (too much information?) Hywel surprised himself with a time inside 22 minutes. Performance of the night was Wendy Morris who finished inside 30 minutes and caught her nearest rival Amrit Singh for two minutes. This time it was Craig Sterrett away on holiday, so now James Heaton takes over at the top of the points table. So far the 18 events to count rule hasn't affected any positions, but with only two events to go this is likely to be a key factor. Also the fading light was a serious problem for late riders, so next week's switch to 6.30 pm will make the event safer, but may affect some riders' ability to make the start.
