Results for 6th August 2008 - Course: K10/10 Princethorpe

An excellent event was somewhat overshadowed by John Tinkler, one of our start officials, being taken ill and having to be taken to hospital by ambulance. Having dispatched 26 riders at that point, with 17 still waiting to start, the team of John Tuckley, Alan Saitch and Phil Gatley coped extremely well, with only an 8 minute delay. With some change of order and swift communication with the the finish timekeepers, all riders got their start and amazingly riders' times appeared to agree with their personal computers. As for the event - it was another clear win for James Heaton, with Colin Stiles and Craig Sterrett within 2 seconds of each other for 2nd and 3rd. There were PBs for Dave Fawcett, Matthew Gatley, Richard Kenworthy, Amrit Singh and Rob Robson, while the favourable conditions meant that 20 riders beat their "par" 20 minute handicap time. The handicap was won by 14 year old Matthew Gatley who took more than 2 minutes off his previous best time.
