Results for 9th July 2008 - Course: K10/25B Princethorpe-A45

17 hardy riders - our lowest field for almost two years - braved the conditions where non-stop rain throughout the day had left the course with surface water in critical areas. Half an hour before the start the rain eased, so a riders' meeting agreed the event should go ahead. Unfortunately the rain returned an hour later, by which time the entire field was on the A45. James Heaton completed the 25 miles in an exceptional 55-27 and there were PBs for Russell Morris and Amrit Singh.   Craig Sterrett and Emily Ducker decided one loop of the A45 was enough, while the unlucky Tony Johnson's front tyre punctured on the run down to the finish. Dave Overton and Colin Stiles rode tandem and battled magnificently in the conditions to record 57-01. It's unusual when the winner on scratch also takes the handicap, but James Heaton's advantage over the rest of the field placed him at the top of both lists.
