Results for 4th June 2008 - Course: K11/7.25 x 2 Grandborough Fields

Roadworks on the original Lawford course forced a switch to Grandborough Fields, thanks to Gary Humphries's successful negotiations with the police and the CTT. The expected contest for first place between James Heaton and Hywel Davies never materialised when James became ill when warming up half an hour before the start and so stood down. Although conditions were perfect riders were slowed by a local horse riding school disputing road ownership with cyclists and a few indignant motorists. Despite this, Hywel Davies was able to clip 2 seconds off James Heaton's one lap standing start record, set only two months ago. Colin Stiles punctured on lap 1, as did Gary Humphries on lap 2. Continued improvements week by week by Ian Usher, Kenny Robinson and Amrit Singh placed them at the top of the handicap list. New member Mike Hummerston, riding in his first time trial clocked an impressive 40-39.
