With James Heaton away through work commitments it was Craig Sterrett who stepped up for the win, just one second faster than Colin Stiles. Hywel Davies continues with his plan to ride his road bike, but he nevertheless claimed third place albeit 46 secs behind Colin. It was a chilly evening when times were generally slow, although guest rider David Lane (Blue Sky Cycles) recorded the fastest time of the evening with a 21-56. Mike Macleod suffered a tyre problem, while David Newton decided to include the Peugeot loop in the course, giving him an extra 1.8 miles. That's equivalent to 24-53 for 10 miles and this would have given him 8th place. In contrast private entrant Steve Bond unwittingly took the short-cut through Stretton and was technically DQ'd from the results. Yet another win in the handicap for Mike Bloom, proving that Winter training can have benefits, as also demonstrated by Tim Randell with his second place. With 45 riders turning out on a cold night it would appear that time trialling is alive and well.
