Results for 22nd August 2007 - Course: K10/10F Frankton

A strong wind and an overcast sky seemed more like October than August, but 37 solos and one tandem turned out as everyone sees the season coming to a close, with only two more evening events to go after this one. Hywel Davies continued his unbeaten sequence, despite having competed in an iron-man event at the weekend. This is traditionally the fastest event of the season, but there were no personal bests in these conditions. The strong wind affected times, adding only a few percent, but that can mean more than half a minute for the average rider. Once again James Heaton surprised everyone with a strong second place, ahead of recognised winners like Colin Stiles, Rob Tobin and Dave Overton. It was touch-and-go with the fading light and the large entry, the late numbers grateful for their flashing LEDs as they finished in the gloom.
