Results for 23rd August 2006

Holidays and unfavourable weather resulted in only half the number of riders compared to last week, but at least the rain held off for the evening. It proved to be an easy win for Colin Stiles, with Hywel Davies on holiday and Rob Tobin puncturing one mile from the finish. This let Craig Sterrett into second place, lowering his PB yet again, this time by a few seconds. As we approach the end of the season five riders now have to drop points under the best 18 rule, although Hywel Davies and Dave Kimberley can't be caught in their respective points and handicap series (see Points Table). A rare appearance from John Hemmings, restricted by work commitments, showed he was fitter than even he expected, giving him a handicap win by one second over the ageless Tony Johnson.
