True to the forecast rain arrived at 8pm, so almost everyone was affected. Despite the conditions it proved to be a fast evening, with 17-year old Edward Delville-Jones just edging out Ollie Billing. Full marks to Sarah Holloway who fell at the Ryton island but remounted and made a determined effort to finish nonetheless. As this was our first 25 of the season the handicaps, based on 10-mile performances to date, proved to be over generous, but Peter Timmins was a clear winner and exceeded his own pre-race target.
