After some localised cloudbursts late afternoon it proved to be a dry, sunny evening, if a little cool, proving that the weather forecast was spot on. A strong crosswind slowed riders, although some fast times were recorded, with Jon Cottingham just edging out Ian Taylor for the top spot. The handicap was won by Keith Hirons, showing a gradual return to form since the start of the season.
