Results for 23rd April 2014 - Course: K11/10 Lawford

Why does the Lawford course invariably attract bad weather? Throughout the event gentle drizzle persisited, although there was very little wind. After a full field of 60 riders had booked on at the weekend, this number dropped rapidly on the night, for very good reasons of course and nothing to do with the weather. Those that rode were rewarded with plenty of points on offer with the reduced field and Eliot Blundell took maximum advantage after a series of third places, ending with a 10 sec advantage over Jonathan Cottingham. The handicap was won by Darren Grieves, the only rider to beat the 20 minute target time, such was the combination of the conditions and a 'sporting course'. Coincidentally the winners on the night now also lead the scratch and handicap points competitions.
