Results for 21st August 2013 - Course: K11/10 Lawford

Major resurfacing work on the A45 meant we were unable to use the full course, reducing our event to a one-way 4.8 miles which stopped on the Fosse Way, just short of the memorial island. We were unable to switch to an alternative course as Warwickshire police require 4 weeks notice of any course change and we can only use roads which we have prior permission for. With a tempting Coventry CC event being held on the K10/10 (which used the other A45 carriageway) club loyaIty was tested somewhat, but nevertheless 41 riders, including 35 members, rode the short course which used the unpopular hilly secions of the Lawford course. For once Matt Clinton, riding his road bike, was not the winner, with Dave Kiernan and Matt Jones finishing ahead. Our 5-mile handicaps were applied, with a win for Marc Coulson and some close net times resulted.
