Results for 8th May 2013 - Course: K11/10D Onley

Our first visit to the Onley course for several seasons was disrupted by roadworks between the A361 island and the Timken island, so we ran a shorter course, turning at the first roundabout. This reduced the distance by about half a mile, although the times didn't reflect this as riders never regain what they lose climbing Braunston Hill. The slightly shorter course had negligible effect on the handicap results, but would be invalid to apply to Vet on Std times, or to claim a PB. With Dave Kiernan and Matt Clinton not riding Tim Hastie was unchallenged for the win, but 16-year old Ryan Kenworthy surprised everyone by taking second place, helped by his excellent climbing ability. Unfortunately the weather reverted to its British Standard, with light rain falling for most of the evening.
