Results for 7th September 2011 - Course: K11/5B Willoughby-Dunchurch
The final event in the evening time trial series was won by David Lane, riding his first club event of the season as an RRCC member, although he actually joined the club in April. A strong wind was a partial help on the return leg, but this course is not inherently fast and many riders recorded times which were longer than 50% of their typical 10-mile time. With the last man off at number 46 the overcast conditions left us near the limit of daylight at the finish, confirming our recommendation that everyone should have a rear light for evening events. Mike Bloom rode twice (and paid twice!), demonstrating that 5 miles is not enough for a proper time trial (neither is 10, according to Mike!). We have had 86 club members ride one or more events this season, with Ray Dyke being the only rider to ride every event. The points tables were resolved over a week ago and in the main (scratch) table Ray is the only rider to drop places as a result of the 'best 18' rule.
