Results for 31st August 2011 - Course: K11/7.25 Grandborough Fields

A win for Craig McKee as he clinches the points championship for the season, while Simon Mitchell has quietly moved through the field to take the handicap. Conditions were excellent, a sunny evening and almost no wind and 45 riders exceeded the 21-45 lap time required to beat 20 mph. However, we had the usual problems on this course with complaining motorists who regard these lanes as their own and tractors working late into the evening. So frustrated was Alexis Green when following a tractor that she took a photo of it on her mobile - now there's a first in a time trial! John Gabriel went off course and Paul Peasegood punctured (yet again). The general feeling is that this course has outlived its time - it may be OK as a 4-hour finishing course on a Sunday morning, but not safe for riders circulating at 25 mph with the level of local traffic in the evening. Hopefully we will have found an alternative for next season..
