Conditions like these happen very rarely, with no wind and ideal temperature, resulting in 15 riders out of 44 going under the hour. Hywel Davies was the fastest club rider with an impressive 54-49, but again it was guest rider Matt Clinton (Mike Vaughan Cycles) who clocked the fastest time of 52-11, taking 5 seconds off the course record he set a year ago. Probably half the riders taking part set new PBs, while 14 year old Ryan Kenworthy clocked 1-04-04 for his first ever 25. Naomi Leugs took 9 minutes off her previous time to head the handicap, with Phil Byrne taking over the lead of the handicap points table. Mike Smallwood had a navigation malfunction, deciding at some point that he was riding the other version of the 25 course before realising that the riders on the other carriageway were in the same event!.
