Results for 28th July 2010 - Course: K3/13.6 - Napton
We try to offer our members a range of courses and distances throughout the season and this annual visit to our 'Hilly' course at Napton is one of the hardest. Best known for the 700 yard 1 in 7 (14%) climb out of Priors Marston it also has several moderate hills and the result often springs a few surprises as power-to-weight ratio is all important. Peter Wright came out on top, but Adrian Tayles ran him a close second, while Russell Morris dropped to 4th, declaring this was not his type of course. On this course a 20 mph average is not easy to achieve, equivalent to a time of 40-48, with Tony Johnson missing the target by one second. There were two unlucky riders, John Gabriel missing the Helidon turn, as did Ray Dyke who then rode through broken glass and incurred a double puncture. As this was the 18th event of the season the points tables from next week onwards may be affected as riders begin to drop their worst scores.
