Results for 26th May 2010 - Course: K11/10T - Thurlaston

After a glimpse of Summer it was back to normal with rain and cooler temperatures. It was a surprise win for Peter Wright by just one second over Russell Morris, still feeling the effects of his 22-23 in the National 10, three days earlier. After the recent hot weather the rain made the course very slippery, with the later starters most affected. The surprise rides of the evening came at opposite ends of the age scale, with 17-year old Sophie Edge looking to break the 30-minute barrier and actually recording 27-58, giving her a runaway win in the handicap. At the other end Ken Rushall, 64 years her senior, was delighted to clock a 29-30 and almost 6 minutes inside his age-related standard. This is proving to be a fast and popular course, with several riders achieving PBs despite the conditions and some fast times are in prospect when we hold our open on this course on 31st July.
