Results for 19th May 2010 - Course: K10/25A Bourton-Princethorpe

The warmest evening so far this season, combined with only a slight breeze, produced excellent conditions. Unfortunately an RTA on the Ryton roundabout caused traffic problems and particularly affected the later numbers. Unluckiest rider was Russell Morris who had to dismount to negotiate the chaos, with the split times indicating he lost over a minute on his second lap. Russell's setback allowed Peter Wright to snatch first place by 22 seconds, with both they and Tim Hastie recording a sub-one hour time. This 2-lap course provides an opportunity for split times, recorded courtesy of James Heaton taking a night off in anticipation of his National 10 ride at the weekend. Handicaps on the first 25 can be a problem, with some riders competing for the first time at this distance. In this case handicaps are based on previous 10 mile performances, but Andrew Ure "beat the system" as his average speed for this 25 was as good or better than his recent 10s. Despite the traffic, 43 riders started, 43 finished, everyone did 2 laps and no one got lost!
