Results for 12th May 2010 - Course: K11/7.25 X 2 Grandborough Fields

A clear win for James Heaton on the two-lap Grandborough Fields course, a rare opportunity to get away from main roads and dual carriageways. Country lanes do have other hazards however, like farm vehicles and motorists who seem unaware of cyclists in the vicinity. A sudden drop in temperature seemed to affect times and James Heaton was unable to get within a minute of his own 32-10 record for the 2-lap version of this course. Following Russell Morris in 2nd, Peter Wright and Tim Hastie disputed 3rd place by just one second. There were interesting battles further down, with new member Simon Mitchell making rapid progress, while in their weekly contest Rob Tyler this time got the better of brother David. In only her fourth ride Sophie Edge signed on as a new member and promptly edged out some of the guys. Russell Morris and Matt Plant still lead the scratch and handicaps points tables, but both have the pack chasing them down.
