Results for 5th May 2010 - Course: K11/10B Braunston

After the mayhem of last week it was good that cycling was the main focus at Braunston, with a bumper entry of 55 all of which safely crossed the finish line with no reported problems. There were 50 Rugby RCC members, equaling the highest ever to ride in a club event (in the modern era). With James Heaton opting not to ride Russell Morris topped the list, again edging out Tim Hastie, with Peter Wright in third only 11 seconds ahead of the improving Matt Plant who set a PB. Nevertheless this course is not as fast as it appears, despite the benefit of a start at the top of Braunston Hill the flat sections on the A45 are very exposed to unfavourable winds. The handicap was won by 12-year old Ryan Kenworrthy, making a big improvement on his previous appearance and was only 23 seconds behind his father on actual time - watch this space! Matt Plant still heads the handicap table although more handicaps are set to change as 2010 results feed into the system. The use of the Boatman car park makes this a popular venue and we are grateful that the new management are still happy to accommodate us.
