Message from Dave Elliott - Club Captain
Hi Guys
I just thought I would drop you a quick message to provide you with my contact details if you need to get in touch with me.
At the end of last season, I was asked by the club if I would like to take the position as the Club Captain for RRCC and help riders with regards to time trialling and entering the Club / Open events to wave the flag for Rugby RCC.
To add to this it has been hinted that we need to win the Interclub this year so I'm keen to work with you guys to assist where I can and show Rugby Velo that we have upped our game! (Please save the date: Friday 21st June)
Over the last 3 seasons, I've learnt to increase my speed and performance despite being over 100kg and 6ft 5 so I'm confident I can help you.
I'm available to discuss all things racing that could help you improve your times and enjoy racing more.
Here are a few subjects that come up often when I meet club members at races or social events:
Clothing/helmets
Bike Equipment - Everything from tyres to aero aids
Training Plans / Training software
Understanding the importance of VO2 Max, Anaerobic, Aerobic, Endurance
Training Equipment
Supplements / Recovery
Nutrition
Core / Strength work (off the bike)

Open Events
I noticed that not
many riders entered open events last season and again I'm happy to help with
regards to course knowledge, what to expect, how to enter etc. Most
open events are on a Saturday or Sunday between 12-2pm so you have plenty of
time to warm up and prepare.
