Dave Baxter explains "Phil did regret his early season training schedule. It didn’t include any cycling… or practice for making sure spare inner tubes don’t fall off and get stuck in your chain whilst riding at high speed. However, with a quick ‘mechanical’ along with myself and Keith we finished in 1:22:01, securing 25th place out of about 60 teams entered. The winners did a storming 1:07:11, over 30 seconds ahead of the second fastest team."
